This notice explains what personal data Legal Access Limited collects when you use this website or enquire about our services, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. It is written to meet our obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What We Collect
When you complete an enquiry form on this website we ask for your name, email address, telephone number and a short description of the name, logo or strapline you want to protect. If you go on to instruct us, we will also hold the information needed to prepare and file your application, which may include your business address, company number and details of the goods and services you supply.
Our web server also records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is used to keep the site working and secure, not to identify you personally.
Why We Use It, And Our Lawful Basis
- To respond to your enquiry — our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us about our services.
- To carry out work you have instructed — performance of our contract with you, including filing applications with the UK Intellectual Property Office on your behalf.
- To keep records of the advice and filings we have made — our legitimate interest in being able to evidence our own work, and in some cases a legal obligation.
- To send you service updates about your own matter — performance of our contract with you.
- To send marketing, where you have asked for it — your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Who We Share It With
Where you instruct us to file an application, the details of that application are submitted to the UK Intellectual Property Office. Trademark applications and registrations are a matter of public record and are published by the IPO, including the applicant name and address given on the application. We will make clear which details will appear publicly before we file.
We also use a small number of service providers — for website hosting, email and accounting — who process data on our instructions and are contractually required to keep it confidential. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Where Your Data Is Held
Your data is held within the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area wherever possible. If any provider we use stores data outside that area, we ensure an appropriate safeguard recognised under UK data protection law is in place before that transfer happens.
How Long We Keep It
If you enquire but do not instruct us, we keep your enquiry for twelve months and then delete it. If you become a client, we keep your file for seven years after the matter closes, which reflects the periods in which a claim could still be brought and our record-keeping obligations. Registration records that must be retained for the life of a trademark are kept for as long as that mark remains registered through us.

This site uses only the cookies needed to make the pages function. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; the site will continue to work if you do.
Your Rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive certain data in a portable format. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please tell us first so we have the chance to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this notice from time to time. Any revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will contact you directly.
